Meet Ed, NYS Licensed Optician

Most of my experience and training has been technical and/or sales related.  My Navy training was in Nuclear Power/Mechanical Engineering.  On the submarine, troubleshooting was my primary responsibility along with repairs.  

My experience and exposure within the Optical field started when I was ten years old working in my father’s shop.  I worked for ten years in equipment sales and service, again diagnosing equipment issues and practice consulting.  Working in labs gave me a better idea as to what will and won’t work as far as what patient prescription works in what type of frame.  Being technically minded helps me use what is available to fill the patient’s needs. 

I have 30 years’ experience as an optician working in boutique as well as managed care environments.  I thoroughly discuss with the patients their occupational, recreation and lifestyle needs.  I create eyewear that will optimally fill their needs.  Troubleshooting visual issues and supplying specialty “out of the box” solutions make us unique in the field.  We also employ the latest in technology to better fulfill patient’s needs.

I enjoy working at The Optical Center because I can use my interpersonal, technical and life experience skills to make each patient’s experience with me a memorable one.


Meet Lisa, Optical staff

As part of the Optical Center for over 10 years, I provide a familiar face as well as extensive knowledge of the business.  I am intensely involved with the frame inventory.  I am aware of our need to have selections of frames ranging from economical to luxury.  My goal is satisfying our customer base when doing the frame buying, and providing them a stylish selection to choose from.  The “customer” is always on my mind when meeting with the sales representatives.

In the dispensary, providing customers with a positive and relaxing experience is of paramount importance.  Keeping their personal taste and budget in mind, I offer technical and personal advice to make their decision easier and enjoyable. 

I provide customers with a well-decorated, neat store where they can feel comfortable.

The Optical Center is a second home for me.  I believe in what I contribute, and feel satisfied that I am performing an important service to our patients and my community.
